Thanks to the project “We connect for more opportunities” LDI02014, children in six primary schools can improve their computer skills. For some children, this is the only way to get in touch with computers and modern technologies, since they do not have such an opportunity at home. The project also provides an opportunity for their parents to come to school and acquire these skills. Each school actively and effectively uses this activity in cooperation with Community workers, who connect children, parents and teachers according to their needs. Next year, parents of pupils from marginalized Roma communities will be able to undergo technological skills training in cooperation with the BBSK Employment Agency, one of the project’s partners. The connection of several partners in the project brings the possibility of equal opportunities even for excluded communities. It is opportunities in education, employment and housing that are a prerequisite for change. It will not happen overnight, but it can be achieved with gradual, long-term steps. So that children who will start their own families in the future can find role models that will show them the way to a better life.

The benefits from a 749 105 € grant from Norway through the Norway Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of  112 365€. The aim of the project is to improved social inclusion of marginalized Roma communities.
